Argentina Dove Hunting
Córdoba has become the paradise of the sports hunting. Its profuse wildlife and the numerous natural spaces make this region become a joy for any hunter.
The need of regulations restrained the hunting of some species, while others were encouraged and promoted by the Government. Such is the case of the dove, which lives all over the provincial territory.
The overpopulation of these birds and the damages they cause to the agricultural activity have made the Agencia Córdoba Ambiente –the official organism that rules the environmental issues– declare the species as a plague and allow the unlimited hunting.
And saying “unlimited” it is not an exaggeration: there are no limits neither regarding to the number of shootings a hunter may make nor the number of hunted pieces. Besides, the activity can be carried out every day of the year.
Yassell Hunting, as a part of the integral service of dove hunting guide, ensures hunting days at the most profuse places of the province, at the northern region, where there is an estimate population of 50 million specimens. They are 50 millions doves that sometimes make the sky darker because of the numerous flocks flying over the sown fields in search of food.
And, besides the guiding assistance, Yassell Hunting has experienced birdboys in charge of collecting all the fired cartridges as well as the pieces, so that the hunter has no need to leave the firing spot.
With Yassell Hunting you just have to be willing to hunt and follow the birds’ flight. You don’t have to worry about anything else.

Córdoba, Argentina
Argentina Republic is located in South America, and it has the fourth most extended territory of the American continent, after USA, Canada and Brazil.
Córdoba, located at the center of the country, is the second most important province and has become a point of reference not only for the Argentineans, but also for those visiting Argentina from other countries.
The inn for the hunter’s stay is located in Santa Catalina, very close to the hunting spots.
Córdoba is the most visited province for all kinds of activities: work, relax, vacations and, mostly, dove hunting due to the absence of limits for this activity.
Lodging
Stay at Posada Camino Real, an inn with colonial and native airs located in a rural area very close to the hunting spots and not too far from the Jesuit Estancias –Santa Catalina, Jesús María and Carayo– which have been declared UNESCO’s World Heritage 2000 due to their cultural wealth.
Posada Camino Real stands out because of the warmth and privacy provided to the guest, besides the services needed for a first class stay: comfortable rooms with private bathroom, multipurpose room, swimming pool, barbecue area, grill, saddle supports, shed, stables, farm and kitchen garden. There are also chambermaid service, laundry, bar, heating, satellite television and phone.
CUISINE
At the inn, the hunter will enjoy:
Buffet breakfast with home-made specialties.
Dinner: starters, empanadas criollas (typical Argentinean turnovers), home-made bread toasts with varieties of cheese, tagliatellini sauté with dried tomatoes, prosciutto and black olives, Persian style chicken enroulé, lacquered pork loin with fennel and many other traditionally handmade dishes.
There is a great variety of desserts, including tangerine cakes, pears with ginger, and brownies with chocolate mousse.
All this, with the best wines.
Lunch: it takes place in the same spot where the hunter is performing the activity. The break at noon is the most waited moment by Yassell Hunting’s customers and friends: roasted ribs and kids, Argentinean barbecues and other typical dishes of the region.
Afternoon snack: it takes place at the hunting spot and has a country style: coffee, tea, caffé latte and the most typical Argentinean infusion: the mate. To enjoy: home-made jams, the traditional dulce de leche (milk jam), home-made bread, pastries and two Córdoba’s exclusive delights: pan criollo (a typical type of bread) and alfajores (a traditional treat).
In the same way, snacks are free during the hunting; national and imported beers, Argentinean wines and everything the hunter needs will be at their disposal with the permanent assistance of Yassell Hunting’s birdboys.
Gun permit | entrance | transfers
The procedure to bring guns to Argentina is simple and fast. You can ask for information about the form to be filled in at the Argentinean consulate closer to your home or you can send it through our Web site. When arriving to Buenos Aires or Córdoba, you go to a place assigned to guns, you fill in the form (if you’ve sent it, you just have to check and sign it) and you pay the toll for each gun (gun temporary entrance into the country form) (gun permit). Every person older than 21 years may bring up to three guns.
Important: When you go back, the American authorities will ask you to prove those guns are yours. We suggest you to make a copy of the purchase invoice or to register your guns at the USA Customs (personal effects form 4457) when you are leaving the United States. It can be complicated at your local airport, but it is recommended to do so in order to avoid any inconvenience when going back.
Guns / chokes: Calibers 12, 20 and 28 are available. We suggest you to bring two guns. Double, semiautomatic or pump. For the chokes, we recommend improved cylinder and modified, full for experts. The interchangeable chokes can provide you with flexibility at hunting time. Make sure your gun is perfectly functioning and in good state before coming and leaving. This is high volume hunting in the field where you will be alone with your hunting guide, who will assist you with your gun. (Gunsmith) Bring with you spare parts, if you have.
The guns must be transported in a hard case with lock and it’s recommended to bring a soft bag to carry the guns to the field. (You can buy a special one at the lodge).
